Australian Skilled Work Visa:

The new points system has been rolled out. The
qualifying score is 60 points for Skilled Subclasses:
1) Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189).
2) Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)
3) Skilled Regional Sponsored Visa (Subclass 489)

Application Requirements:
Invitation of Apply:
You can only apply for this visa if you have been invited to apply for the visa. The invitation would be subject to a
specific time frame only during which you can lodge your application. It will be inclusive of the rules for lodging your application. The visa application is only available to be filed with a personalized link that is sent within the invitation.

Age:
You must not be more than 50 years of age when you are invited to apply.

English Language:
The threshold of the English language requirement is competent English from IELTS test result showing a minimum score of 6 in each of the components of the IELTS test or a Occupational English score attaining a score of B in each of the four components.

Nominated Occupation:
After registering your Expression of Interest (EOI), you must nominate a skilled occupation that fits your skills and applications. Your nominated occupation must beon the Skilled Occupation Lists (SOL).

EOI score and assessed score
Post the submission of one’s EOI, it will be ranked on the basis of the claims they made about their skills and attributes. It is bound that invitations will be issued to the prospective applicants the highest rankings, subject to the operation ceiling. In case the prospective applicant receives an invitation to apply and makes an application, their application will be assessed against the points test. To get a visa they will have to meet the pass mark currently set at 60 points.

Skills Assessment:
It is implied that before receiving the invitation, your skills should get assessed as suitable for your occupation by an assessing authority for the nominated occupation.

You also need to find out if the occupation you have nominated requires you to be registered, licensed or be a member of the professional industry organisation. Evidence of the suitable skills assessment must be available at the time you are invited to apply.
